Bomb Blast Rocks Bharatpur: Four Motorcycles Reduced to Ashes in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar (OT Webdesk): Panic gripped residents of Bharatpur late Sunday evening after a bomb attack near Pandakudia Basti left four high-value motorcycles completely destroyed.

The explosion, suspected to be linked to a land dispute, has reignited concerns over law and order in Odisha’s capital.

According to preliminary reports, unidentified miscreants detonated a bomb near a residential cluster under Bharatpur police jurisdiction.

The resulting fire engulfed four parked motorcycles, turning them into charred wreckage. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported.

Senior Police Officer Manas Basti stated, “We are yet to ascertain who carried out the attack and the exact motive, but we suspect it was a pre-planned act linked to a land dispute.” Investigators are currently reviewing CCTV footage and collecting forensic evidence from the scene.

The incident has sparked outrage among locals, many of whom are demanding stronger security measures and quicker resolution of land conflicts. “This kind of violence in a residential area is terrifying.

We need better protection,” said one resident.

Authorities have deployed additional forces in the area and assured swift action to identify and apprehend the culprits.

As investigations continue, the attack underscores the urgent need for preventive policing and dispute resolution mechanisms in rapidly urbanising zones of Bhubaneswar.
