Bolangir Police Bust Gambling Den, 11 Arrested in Kantabanji Raid
Kantabanji police in Bolangir district carried out a swift raid on a gambling den near Kadobasa village, arresting 11 individuals engaged in illegal betting.
The operation, led by SDPO Laxmi Narayan Marandi and IIC Gopal Chandra Karna, followed a tip‑off about large‑scale gambling activities involving players from Titilagarh and Kantabanji town wards.
During the raid, police seized Rs 64,500 in cash, 11 mobile phones, three motorcycles, one scooter, three sets of playing cards, and other items used for gambling.
While several suspects managed to flee, those apprehended will be produced in court under case number 427/2025.
Authorities confirmed that one of the arrested individuals belongs to the Titilagarh police station area, while the rest are residents of Kantabanji town.
The crackdown underscores the district police’s ongoing efforts to curb illegal betting and maintain law and order in the region.
