Bolangir Police Arrest 10 in Jewellery Shop Dacoity, Recover Stolen Property
Bolangir police have cracked the January 30 jewellery shop dacoity at Maa Mangala Jewellery in Chudapali, arresting ten individuals linked to the crime.
The gang had looted gold and silver ornaments during the daring raid.
According to police, six of the accused hail from Nayagarh district, three are from Bolangir, and one individual was arrested for purchasing stolen property.
The arrested persons include Pancha Naik, Sushant Rana, Pandia Bhujabal, Ekal Swain, Chandan Patra, Kalia Maharana, Sunil Sahu, Ramkumar Sahu, Subash Bag, and Fortune Kumar Sahu.
Recovered items include a car, motorcycles, mobile phones, and silver ornaments.
Investigations revealed that the gang was also involved in other loot incidents under the Sadar and Loisingha police station jurisdictions.
The arrests mark a significant breakthrough in the police’s intensified operations against organised crime in Bolangir, bringing relief to traders and residents who had been alarmed by the robbery.
