Bhubaneswar, May 22,(OT Webdesk) – A fishing trip turned into a heartbreaking tragedy when a boat capsized near Tailesara in Deogarh district, leading to the drowning of two minor brothers while their mother remains missing. The father, who was also onboard, managed to swim ashore.
The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of the Kundheigola police station. Eyewitnesses reported that the family of four was engaged in a fishing activity when their boat overturned. Authorities quickly launched a search operation to locate the missing mother, with local police and community volunteers actively involved in the effort.
The bodies of the two minor boys have been recovered, and an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the capsizing. Officials have urged caution for those venturing into the reservoir for fishing and recreational activities.
