BJD MLAs Conduct Mock Poll Ahead of Rajya Sabha Elections
Bhubaneswar: Legislators of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) took part in a mock poll exercise at the Odisha Assembly today as part of preparations for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections.
The rehearsal was organised to familiarise party members with the voting procedure and ensure smooth conduct during the actual election.
MLAs from three parties are expected to participate in similar exercises in phases.
In the first phase, BJD legislators practised the polling process inside the Assembly premises.
Later in the evening, BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to meet party MLAs at his residence to review preparations and provide further guidance.
Party sources said the mock poll was aimed at strengthening organisational readiness and eliminating any procedural confusion ahead of the crucial Rajya Sabha vote.
