BJD Celebrates International Women’s Day in Odisha | Naveen Patnaik Highlights Women’s Empowerment

Bhubaneswar, March 8: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) marked International Women’s Day with a special event at Sankha Bhawan, led by party president and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik.

Organized by the Biju Mahila Janata Dal, the gathering highlighted the party’s commitment to women’s empowerment and dignity.

In his address, Patnaik criticised the BJP government in Odisha, pointing to a leadership crisis and rising cases of atrocities against women.

He stressed that BJD’s vision goes beyond token gestures, focusing instead on complete empowerment, safety, and respect for women.

Patnaik also recalled the pioneering role of his father, Biju Patnaik, in advancing women’s rights, noting that the party continues to carry forward this legacy.

The event was presided over by Biju Mahila Janata Dal president Snehangini Chhuria, with senior women leaders reaffirming their dedication to women’s welfare and empowerment.
