Bikram Panda Returns to Brahmapur Jail Amid Health Concerns, Lawyer Alleges Premature Discharge
Brahmapur, Odisha: Former MLA Bikram Panda has been shifted back to Brahmapur Jail from MKCG Medical College under tight security after a five‑day hospital stay.
Panda was admitted with gallbladder stones, piles, and dental pain, and treated by a seven‑member medical team.
His lawyer, Deepak Pattnaik, has alleged that Panda was discharged prematurely despite a pending gallbladder surgery, claiming hospital authorities acted under pressure.
Pattnaik described the move as a violation of Panda’s rights and indicated plans to seek legal remedies.
Medical authorities have not yet issued an official response to the allegations.
