Bihar Foundation Day Celebrated in Odisha: Governor Highlights Unity Through Culture

Bhubaneswar, March 22: Odisha’s Lok Bhavan came alive with cultural vibrancy as Bihar Foundation Day was celebrated with grandeur.

Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati underscored the importance of unity through cultural respect, echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.

The event highlighted the historic ties between Bihar and Odisha, recalling the legacy of Magadh, Kalinga, and the transformative Kalinga War.

Bihar’s rich heritage — from Ashoka’s moral awakening to Buddha’s enlightenment, Mahavira’s teachings, and Nalanda University’s intellectual brilliance — was celebrated as a beacon of India’s spiritual and cultural strength.

Madhubani paintings and the Chhath festival were spotlighted as symbols of harmony between humanity and nature.

Senior officials, including ADGP Sanjay Kumar and Transport Commissioner Amitabh Thakur, praised the contributions of the Bihari community in Odisha’s development.

Cultural performances and personal stories from Biharis settled in Odisha added warmth to the occasion.

The Governor concluded by stressing that India’s strength lies in its unity in diversity, guiding the nation toward a stronger, inclusive future.
