Bhupinder Singh Says BJD Cannot Survive Without Naveen Patnaik’s Leadership

Bhubaneswar, Dec 25: On the eve of Biju Janata Dal’s (BJD) foundation day, senior party leader and former Rajya Sabha member Bhupinder Singh has issued a striking warning about the party’s future.

Singh stated unequivocally that the BJD cannot survive without the leadership of Naveen Patnaik, cautioning that any attempt to hand over the reins to a new face would lead to division within the party.

Singh alleged that the party is currently being run by only three to four individuals, a situation he described as unhealthy and a source of growing dissatisfaction among both senior and junior leaders.

He emphasised that this is not the right time to introduce new leadership, despite efforts by certain groups within the party.

According to Singh, Naveen Patnaik himself must directly take charge of the party’s management to ensure its survival. Without his leadership, Singh warned, the BJD would lose its identity and collapse.

His remarks, coming just before the party’s foundation day, have intensified speculation about internal rifts and raised questions about the future direction of Odisha’s ruling party.
