Bhubaneswar Traffic Advisory: Route Diversions for Odisha Assembly Session Sept 18–25
In anticipation of the 4th Session of the 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly, the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate has announced a series of traffic restrictions across the capital city from September 18 to 25, 2025.
The move aims to ensure smooth vehicular movement and bolster security around the Assembly premises.
The advisory, issued under Section 28 of the Odisha Urban Police Act, 2003 and Regulation 36 of the Commissionerate Traffic and Public Order Regulation, 2008, outlines key route diversions:
- Vehicles from Housing Board Square to Rabindra Mandap will be rerouted at Keshari Talkies Square.
- Traffic from AG Square to PMG must detour via Jaydev Bhawan and Indira Gandhi Park Road.
- Commuters from the Master Canteen to PMG will be diverted near Lower PMG lanes.
- Movement from 120 Infantry Battalion Square to Rabindra Mandap will be redirected to Power House Square.
- Vehicles from Raj Bhawan Square heading to MLA Colony and Rabindra Mandap will be diverted to Sastrinagar Square.
Emergency services—including police, fire, and ambulances—as well as vehicles accessing official buildings like the State Assembly and Lokseva Bhawan, are exempt from these restrictions.
The Commissionerate has urged citizens to cooperate and plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconvenience. The diversions will be enforced throughout the duration of the Assembly session
