Bhubaneswar Police Roll Out Multi-Layered Security for Festive Season
Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police have announced a comprehensive security plan to ensure public safety during Christmas and New Year celebrations in the Odisha capital.
Police Commissioner S. Dev Datta Singh confirmed the deployment of over 15 platoons of force across the city, supported by intensified patrolling and plainclothes surveillance in crowded areas.
Authorities will strictly enforce time restrictions for “Zero Night” celebrations on December 31, while venues hosting events will undergo stringent fire safety and crowd management checks.
The measures follow heightened national concerns after a tragic nightclub fire in Goa claimed 25 lives earlier this month.
Traffic regulations, anti-drunk driving checkpoints, and close monitoring of hotels, pubs, and public spaces will also be in place.
Singh emphasised that public safety remains the top priority, urging citizens to cooperate with security personnel and promptly report suspicious activities.
