Bhubaneswar Love Triangle Murder Linked to Shisu Bhawan Square Car Crash

A road accident at Shishubhawan Square in which a car plunged from an overbridge has been linked to a brutal murder driven by a love triangle, police sources revealed on Monday.

The victim, Satyabrata Pradhan, a taxi driver from Brahmagiri in Puri district, was found dead with his throat slit in a rented house near Mangala Mandir in Niladri Vihar, Chandrasekharpur. Police have arrested two persons — Dinesh Kandi and Liza Bhoi, a beauty parlour worker who was in a relationship with the deceased.

According to a preliminary investigation, Satyabrata had come to Bhubaneswar to meet Liza. The murder is believed to have taken place late Sunday night or early Monday morning after a dispute over Satyabrata’s past relationship. Enraged by the revelation of his old girlfriend, Liza allegedly conspired with Dinesh to kill him.

After the murder, the accused reportedly attempted to flee in Satyabrata’s taxi. However, the vehicle plunged from the overbridge at Shishubhawan Square, initially reported as a routine road accident. Alternative accounts suggest the car owner, upon learning of the driver’s death, arrived with another driver to retrieve the vehicle and lost control while fleeing, causing the crash.

Chandrasekharpur police, assisted by a scientific team, are conducting a detailed probe at the murder site. Liza Bhoi is currently in police custody and being interrogated. The exact sequence of events and motive are still under investigation.

Local residents have raised concerns over recurring accidents at the Shishubhawan overbridge, describing it as a major traffic hazard where vehicles frequently veer off the road.
