Bhubaneswar, June 20(OT Webdesk): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Bhubaneswar today to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the Mohan Majhi-led BJP government in Odisha.
The PM’s visit signals a strong political message as he unveiled key infrastructure, transportation, and development projects aimed at accelerating Odisha’s growth trajectory.
At a mega event at Janata Maidan, Modi will launch and lay foundation stones for nearly Rs 19,000 crore worth of development schemes.
Among the highlights are the inauguration of a new railway line connecting Boudh to the Indian Railways network, marking a transformative step for regional connectivity.
He will also flag off 100 electric buses under the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) initiative.
The Prime Minister will unveil the ‘Odisha Vision Document’, which outlines strategic goals for Odisha@100 in 2036 and India@100 in 2047.
Two flagship programs—‘Baraputra Itihasika Grama Yojana’ and ‘Lakhpati Didi’—will be also launched and celebrated, emphasizing women empowerment and grassroots development.
The city is under a high-security blanket with 133 police platoons, 500 officers, CAPF teams, and emergency response units deployed to ensure smooth proceedings amid potential weather challenges.
