Bhubaneswar Gears Up for 84th Indian Roads Congress: Gadkari to Inaugurate

Bhubaneswar is set to host the 84th Indian Roads Congress (IRC) from November 7 to 10, 2025, at Janata Maidan, marking the sixth time Odisha welcomes this prestigious national event.

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, will inaugurate the congress, reaffirming the central government’s commitment to infrastructure-led growth.

Odisha Works Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan confirmed the development, emphasising the state’s readiness to showcase its advancements in road and transport systems.

The four-day event will bring together over 2,000 IRC representatives and 3,500 engineers, including chief engineers, VVIPs, and top experts from across India.

Gadkari is expected to address delegates on national initiatives in road development, safety, and technological innovation.

The congress will also feature academic contributions from IIT Bhubaneswar and NIT Rourkela, presenting case studies on successful infrastructure projects and road safety advancements.

As preparations intensify, Odisha positions itself as a key player in shaping India’s transport future, with the IRC serving as a platform for collaboration, innovation, and policy dialogue.
