Bhubaneswar Ganja Smuggler Arrested After Bomb Attack on Excise Team

Bhubaneswar: Excise officials arrested a notorious ganja smuggler, popularly known as Puspa, after a dramatic chase in the Baramunda area.

The accused attempted to flee by hurling a bomb at the raiding team but was swiftly subdued.

Authorities seized a significant haul of ganja, two luxury vehicles, and explosive materials during the operation.

Preliminary investigations reveal that the smuggler was running an organised gang, allegedly involving several young women in the illegal trade.

This arrest comes on the heels of a recent crackdown on four members of the “Pushpa Gang,” who had terrorised Gautam Nagar by attacking a lawyer and brandishing weapons.

Officials believe the gang’s activities were part of a larger narcotics racket spreading panic across the city.

Further investigation is underway to trace the network’s full extent and identify other members involved in the smuggling and violent activities.
