Bhubaneswar Constable’s Murder Unravels Dark Secrets of Accused Lover

The disappearance of 25-year-old traffic constable Subhamitra Sahoo has ended in heartbreak and horror. After days of searching, her body was discovered buried in a forested area of Keonjhar district.

The accused, Deepak Rout—also a constable and reportedly her lover—has confessed to the crime.

According to police sources, Rout strangled Subhamitra following a personal dispute, transported her body by car from Bhubaneswar, and buried it in Keonjhar.

The vehicle used in the crime has been seized, and a special squad was dispatched to recover the remains.

The Commissionerate Police had earlier announced a Rs 25,000 reward for credible leads. As the investigation deepens, disturbing details have emerged about Rout’s past.

He had previously received Rs 1 crore in insurance money following the suspicious death of his wife, which he claimed was accidental.

Authorities are now probing Rout’s history for potential links to other crimes, raising serious questions about oversight and accountability within the police force.
