Mumbai, April 28, 2025 (OT Webdesk) – The World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025 is ready to spotlight the finest creative talents in the country from May 1 to 4. Among the 42 finalists of the prestigious Animation Filmmaker Competition, two young stars from Odisha, Bhagyashree Satpathy and Rishav Mohanty, have carved a special place for themselves.
Hailing from Jajpur, Bhagyashree Satpathy is a 22-year-old animation artist and filmmaker known for her innovative storytelling rooted in Indian mythology and regional folklore. Her project “Pasa” reimagines traditional narratives through psychological drama, exploring themes of manipulation and gender.
Meanwhile, Rishav Mohanty from Bhubaneswar brings his documentary prowess to the competition with his project “Khatti,” which highlights the power of authentic storytelling through animation.
The finalists will present their projects to an esteemed panel of international judges at the summit. The top three winners will be awarded ₹5 lakh each, creating a significant boost for their creative journeys.
WAVES 2025 not only celebrates the extraordinary talents of individuals like Bhagyashree and Rishav but also positions India’s animation and VFX industry as a global powerhouse. As the countdown begins, Odisha beams with pride for its creative pioneers ready to dazzle on the national stage.
