Bhadrak Revenue Inspector Assaulted Over Legal Heir Certificate Dispute
A shocking incident unfolded at Chandabali Tehsil in Bhadrak district, Odisha, where Revenue Inspector (RI) Tapas Ranjan Jena was brutally assaulted inside his office.
The attack was allegedly led by Subas Das of Jagannathpur village, following a confrontation over a legal heir certificate dispute.
Jena sustained injuries and was rushed to the hospital before filing a written complaint with Chandabali police and Tehsildar Bhabatosh Mallik.
Condemning the assault, Mallik described the act as “shameful” and clarified that the dispute stemmed from a 2022 legal heir certificate used in property transactions.
Recent survey corrections revealed discrepancies, sparking tensions.
Mallik further noted that the miscreants involved were not directly connected to the case.
The district administration has vowed strict legal action, with plans to consult the Collector to ensure justice.
This incident highlights growing concerns over disputes related to property documentation and the safety of government officials handling sensitive cases.
