(OT Webdesk)In a major crackdown on theft and illegal trade, Bhadrak Town Police seized electricity cables worth over Rs 1 crore during a surprise raid on a scrap warehouse near Haladidihi bypass.
Acting on a tip-off, a special four-member team led by officer Prabhanshu Mishra raided the premises and confiscated two truckloads of cables suspected to be stolen.
The operation marks a significant breakthrough in curbing the rampant cable theft racket in the region.
Police sources indicated that further quantities of stolen cables may be uncovered as the investigation continues.
The seized trucks have been brought to the police station, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend individuals involved in the racket.
Although no formal case has been registered yet, authorities confirmed that legal proceedings will commence shortly, and arrests are expected soon.
