Bhadrak Murder Case: Third Accused Nabbed, Knife Seized

Bhadrak police have arrested the third accused in the Gunthunia Market murder case, bringing the investigation closer to completion.

The accused, Biswajit Behera alias Babu (25) of Bidanga village, was taken into custody on Saturday.

Earlier, two others — a minor, Sushant Sadangi alias Kulua (17), and Himanshu Mishra alias Lulua (21) — had already been arrested.

However, the fourth accused, Biswanath Dhada alias Kabula, remains absconding.

Police have seized the knife used in the crime and sent it for forensic examination.

Officials revealed that the murder was the result of a heated argument among friends rather than long-standing enmity.

The victim, C Kumar Swami, was lured out of his home in Charampa and attacked with a knife on March 8, succumbing to his injuries on the spot.

DSP Anil Pradhan confirmed that efforts are underway to apprehend Kabula and file the charge sheet promptly.

He assured that the investigation is progressing swiftly and justice will be delivered.
