Bhadrak: Auto Rickshaw Driver Attacked, Looted of Cash and Gold
A shocking incident unfolded in Bhadrak late on January 26, 2026, when an auto rickshaw driver was brutally attacked by a group of miscreants.
The victim, identified as Manoj Mallik of Charampa Baula Pokhari village, was surrounded by nearly ten youths around midnight and assaulted with sharp weapons.
The attackers looted Rs 4,320 in cash, snatched his gold chain, and smashed his mobile phone before fleeing the scene.
Hearing his cries, locals rushed to his aid, forcing the assailants to escape.
Mallik was admitted to Bhadrak Medical College in a severely injured condition.
His family has lodged a complaint at Bhadrak Town Police Station, and police have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the culprits.
