BDA Celebrates 43rd Foundation Day with New Park and Playground in Kalinga Vihar

The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) marked its 43rd Foundation Day with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art park and playground at K9B in Kalinga Vihar, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable urban development and inclusive public spaces.

Spanning 2.3 acres for the playground and 1.36 acres for the park, the Rs 5.5 crore project features modern amenities such as an open gym, yoga pindi, walking track, toilets, changing rooms, sprinkler irrigation, and a secure compound wall.

The facilities were inaugurated by Dr. Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, Minister for Housing & Urban Development and Chairman of BDA.

The event also spotlighted BDA’s broader initiative to develop 20 playgrounds across Bhubaneswar at a total cost of Rs 98 crore, with 19 nearing completion.

Dignitaries including Mayor Sulochana Das, MLA Babu Singh, Principal Secretary Usha Padhee, and Vice Chairman Dr. N. Thirumala Naik emphasized the importance of strategic planning, climate resilience, and citizen collaboration in shaping Bhubaneswar’s future.

The celebrations continued at Jaydev Bhawan, where BDA’s Annual Report was unveiled and calls were made for enhanced housing projects and employee welfare schemes.
