Basudevpur Declared Dry Day for Ram Navami Celebrations

Basudevpur has been declared a “Dry Day” on the occasion of Shree Ram Navami and the Kalash Shobha Yatra.

The Excise Department has ordered the closure of all liquor outlets, hotels, bars, restaurants, bhang shops, and tari shops under Section 26(1) of the Odisha Excise Act, 2008.

The Kalash Shobha Yatra began at 1:00 pm from Salandi Ghat and will culminate with a Maha Yagya at Gandhi Ground, drawing lakhs of devotees.

To maintain the sanctity of the festival, meat shops have also been directed to remain shut.

Police and excise officials have been deployed to ensure compliance, with strict warnings of legal action against violators.

The move aims to guarantee peaceful and orderly celebrations of Ram Navami in Basudevpur.
