Barbil Police Jana Samparka Mela Strengthens Community Bonds in Odisha

Barbil: The Barbil Police successfully organised a Jana Samparka Mela (Public Outreach Fair), creating a vibrant platform to strengthen police–public relations.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 2,000 citizens, alongside local leaders and police officials, making it a landmark initiative in fostering trust and cooperation.

The mela was formally inaugurated by Debendra Nath Pingua, SDPO Barbil, in the presence of Ashok Kumar Nayak, IIC Barbil Police Station, along with other officers and personnel.

Prominent community leaders including Kshirod Mahanta, Ambuj Satapathy and Bhagaban Chatampa, extended their support, while Executive Officer of Barbil Municipality, Ramesh Chandra Naik, added significance with his presence.

A Health Camp was a major highlight of the event, led by Dr Rasmi Ranjan Samal, who provided free medical consultations and basic health check-ups to the public.

The Barbil Police also carried out several welfare initiatives during the mela, such as:
– Distribution of blankets to all attendees
– Providing study materials to children
– Free medicines through the health camp

Speaking on the occasion, SDPO Pingua emphasised the importance of community policing, stating that such initiatives build “trust, cooperation and mutual understanding between the police and the public.”

The Barbil Police reaffirmed their commitment to public welfare, safety, and continuous engagement through people-centric programs, ensuring that the bond between citizens and law enforcement grows stronger with each initiative.
