Bali Yatra 2025: Cuttack Declares Festival Grounds No Drone Zone for Public Safety

Cuttack — In a decisive move to ensure public safety, the Cuttack District Magistrate has declared the Bali Yatra grounds a “No Drone Zone” from November 1 to 15, 2025.

The directive, issued by Collector Dr. Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde, prohibits the use of drones, UAVs, paragliders, paramotors, power hang gliders, microlight aircraft, and hot air balloons within a 5-kilometre radius of the festival site.

The historic Bali Yatra, scheduled from November 5 to 12, is expected to draw over 5 million visitors across its 60-acre expanse along the Mahanadi River.

With cultural programs, commercial stalls, and large public gatherings planned, the aerial restriction is part of a broader security strategy aimed at preventing mishaps and maintaining crowd control.

Officials emphasised that any violation of the aerial ban will result in immediate seizure of the prohibited devices.

The move reflects growing concerns over unauthorised drone activity at mass events and reinforces the administration’s commitment to safe and smooth festival operations.

Vendors and attendees are urged to comply with the guidelines to avoid legal consequences and contribute to a secure celebration of Odisha’s maritime heritage.
