Balasore Bus Crash on NH‑16 Leaves 30 Injured, 7 Critical

Balasore,  – A devastating accident on National Highway 16 near Khantapada left more than 30 passengers injured on Sunday morning, with seven reported to be in critical condition.

According to eyewitnesses, a speeding Pani Coach bus from Bhubaneswar rammed into a stationary Ashirbad bus at the Khantapada bus stand around 11:45 a.m.

The collision caused chaos, with passengers sustaining injuries ranging from fractures to head trauma.

Local residents rushed to assist the victims before rescue teams and police arrived at the scene.

The injured were initially taken to Khantapada Medical, while those in critical condition were shifted to Balasore hospital for advanced treatment.

The crash disrupted traffic along NH‑16, forcing commuters to reroute. Authorities have assured a thorough investigation into the incident, highlighting concerns over reckless driving and frequent mishaps on the busy highway.
