Aska NAC Shines in National Cleanliness Rankings, Secures Second Spot in Swachh Survekshan 2024–25
Bhubaneswar(OT webdesk): In a proud moment for Odisha, Aska Notified Area Council (NAC) in Ganjam district has clinched the second position in the prestigious Swachh Survekshan 2024–25 survey, under the 20,000 to 50,000 population category.
The accolade was formally presented by President of India, Smt.. Droupadi Murmu, to the state’s Housing and Urban Development Minister, Dr. Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, during a high-profile ceremony at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
Following the national recognition, Aska MLA Saroj Kumar Padhi and NAC Chairperson Binita Swain showcased the award to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar today.
The CM lauded the transformation efforts and urged the team to aim for the top spot in upcoming editions.
Aska’s achievement stems from its robust sanitation infrastructure, sustainable waste management practices, and citizen-driven cleanliness initiatives.
The recognition reinforces Odisha’s commitment to the Swachh Bharat Mission and sets a benchmark for urban sustainability in smaller municipalities.
Chief Minister Majhi commended Aska’s residents and administration for their collective dedication, stating, “Let’s strive for first place next year!”
