Ashok was a leader of the peoples ; Former Minster Suresh routray

Bhubaneswar/Jajpur; Ashok Das Memorial Committee was observed on the 17th death anniversary of former Jajpur MLA Ashok Das at Birja Kalyan Mandap premises in Jajpur District on Monday.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Santosh Mallick. Former minister Suresh Routray, senior journalist Rabi Das, Kedar Mishra, and Jajpur MLA Sujata Sahu participated prominently and discussed the political life and personality of Ashok Das.

Ashok Das’s lovers participated in the program held under the leadership of the convenor of the commite Tapan Mohanty, and many other prominent people joined.

Former minister Routray Said He became an MLA 6 times but was never in the government. People repeatedly elected him because he presented the issues of the people.

Journalist Ravi das Said His strong arguments in the assembly used to put the government in a Problem. Journalist Kedar das Said He was a significant figure in anti-Congress politics in Odisha and a close associate of former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik.

Among others, BJD Leader Bhabprakash Das, Balabhadra Das & many other prominent people were present. Similarly A mega blood donation camp was organised, which was inaugurated by Jajpur MLA Sujata Sahoo.

MLA Sahoo encouraged the blood donors. MLA Sahoo Said Das towering political figure who led student movements, served multiple terms as MLA (from Korei), became Janata Dal State President, and was instrumental in state politics, known for his dedication and refusal of ministerial posts, with annual observances marking his legacy in his home district.

He was a key leader under Biju Patnaik, and his life marked significant political shifts in Odisha, with his death in 2008 prompting widespread mourning and tributes from top leaders.

Ashok Das Foundation General Secretary Bhava Prasad Das distributed fruits and biscuits to patients in the District Headquarters Hospital.

Blankets were distributed to the needy by the Ashok Das Foundation. Bhaba Prasad Said Ashok Das Foundation will work to provide services to the public in the Korei & Jajpur constituency.

He said that he would continue to serve the people of Jajpur & Korei in any manner he can.
