Aryan Khan’s Bold Debut Shakes Up Bollywood with Satirical Netflix Series

In a dazzling directorial debut, Aryan Khan—son of Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan—has stepped behind the camera to deliver The Ba*ds of Bollywood, a sharp, satirical series now streaming on Netflix.

Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, the show dives deep into the dual realities of the Hindi film industry, juxtaposing the lives of privileged “nepo babies” with self-made stars who claw their way to fame.

Aryan, a USC School of Cinematic Arts graduate, defies expectations by choosing storytelling over stardom.

His series features Lakshya as the gritty outsider and Sahher Bambba as the pampered daughter of a superstar, played by Bobby Deol.

The ensemble cast includes Mona Singh, Manoj Pahwa, and Raghav Juyal, with celebrity cameos from Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh, and Karan Johar.

The Mumbai premiere was a glittering affair, attended by Bollywood royalty including Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit, and Kajol.

Industry insiders have praised Aryan’s vision—Farah Khan called him “the hardest-working director,” while Karan Johar lauded his unique storytelling style.

With its biting humor, insider commentary, and star-studded cast, The Ba*ds of Bollywood is poised to become a flagship Indian original for Netflix in 2025.
