Anubhav Mohanty to Star in Manas Padhiari’s Directorial Debut ‘Chhaki Shun’

Odia cinema is set to welcome a fresh directorial voice as acclaimed writer Manas Padhiari transitions behind the camera with his debut film Chhaki Shun.

Known for his compelling storytelling and dialogue work in films like Selfish Dil, Guptchup, and Prasthanam, Padhiari now steps into the director’s chair, promising a new cinematic experience.

Superstar Anubhav Mohanty will headline the film, adding star power to the much-anticipated project.

The production is backed by Naveen Bhandari, Jagruti E. Mohanty, and Shubham, with Deepak Kumar handling cinematography and Shaktiswarup Dwivedi on sound design.

While the lead actress and supporting cast are yet to be announced, filming is scheduled to begin in the second week of September.

Padhiari’s move into direction was hinted at nearly 16 months ago in an interview with Cine Sambad, and fans have been eagerly awaiting his next creative leap.

With Chhaki Shun, Odia cinema may be witnessing the rise of a new directorial force—one rooted in strong narrative craftsmanship and a digital-first sensibility.
