Angul Cyber Police IIC Narrowly Escapes Alleged Attack by Bus Driver

Angul,– In a shocking late-night incident on December 18, Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) of Angul Cyber Police Station, Khaleswar Sethi, narrowly escaped serious injury after a bus driver allegedly attempted to run him over near Budhi Thakurani Chhak.

According to police sources, the bus sped toward Inspector Sethi in a manner that suggested a deliberate attempt to hit him. The officer managed to move aside at the last moment, avoiding harm.

Following the failed attempt, the bus driver and two other individuals reportedly confronted the officer, hurling verbal abuse and making caste-based derogatory remarks.

Inspector Sethi immediately alerted the Angul police station, and another officer was dispatched to ensure his safety.

A formal complaint was later filed, leading to the registration of a criminal case. Investigators are now examining CCTV footage and technical evidence to identify the bus and trace the suspects.

Senior officials confirmed that further legal action will follow once the preliminary probe is complete.

As of the latest update, the accused remain at large, and police efforts to track them are ongoing.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety of law enforcement officers and highlighted the seriousness of caste-based abuse allegations.
