Amit Shah’s Two-Day Visit to Odisha: Security, Forensic Science, and Legal Reforms in Focus

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will arrive in Bhubaneswar on March 5, 2026, for a two-day official tour.

His visit underscores the Centre’s emphasis on strengthening security infrastructure, advancing forensic sciences, and promoting legal reforms.

On March 6, Shah will attend the CISF Foundation Day celebrations at Munduli, Cuttack. Later, he will perform the bhumi pujan for the upcoming National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) and Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Jatni, Khordha, while virtually inaugurating the NFSU Transit Campus in Bhubaneswar.

The Home Minister will also inaugurate an exhibition on new criminal laws (Nyaya Sanhita) and lay foundation stones for several projects related to cooperation and other departments at the IDCO Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar.

Preparations are in full swing, with road improvements, illumination, cleanliness drives, and beautification efforts underway around Munduli.

A high-level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg, with updates from Additional Chief Secretary Hemant Sharma and participation from DGP Y.B. Khurania and other senior officials, reviewed arrangements for security, traffic, and site-specific readiness.

Shah’s visit highlights the collaborative efforts between central and state authorities, focusing on modernising forensic science education, enhancing law enforcement capacity, and strengthening governance frameworks.
