Amit Shah’s Two-Day Odisha Visit: Traffic Curbs Announced in Bhubaneswar & Cuttack

Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Odisha today for a two-day visit packed with key events and inaugurations.

His schedule includes attending the CISF Raising Day ceremony at Mundali, laying the foundation stone for the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) and CFSL Bhubaneswar campus, and inaugurating the NFSU transit campus virtually.

He will also launch an exhibition on new criminal laws.

On March 6, Shah will inaugurate the Sulphuric Acid Plant at IFFCO Paradip, aimed at boosting fertiliser production, and participate in Shwet Kranti 2.0 and Cooperative Push, initiatives focused on dairy growth, youth empowerment, and farmer welfare.

Traffic Restrictions: Authorities have announced phased traffic curbs across Bhubaneswar and Cuttack to facilitate smooth movement during the visit.

  • March 5: Restrictions from 8 pm–8:45 pm at Airport Square, AG Square, Jaydev Vihar Square, and connecting routes.
  • March 6: Curbs across Nalco Square, Patia Square, KIIT Square, Nandankanan Square, CISF Mundali, PMG Square, Rabindra Mandap Square, Ram Mandir Square, and Airport Square.

Security Measures: A 5-km ‘No Drone Zone’ has been declared around CISF Mundali from March 3–6. Civil works and construction along designated routes will remain suspended during the visit.

Residents are advised to plan travel accordingly and avoid restricted routes.
