Ambassadors urge Odisha exporters to tap European market through Malta & Slovenia

Bhubaneswar, Sep 3 (UNI) Ambassadors today urged Odisha exporters to take advantage of Malta and Slovenia as gateways to the European market.

Speaking at a training session titled “Export Policy and Global Market Connectivity” organized by the Directorate of Export Promotion and Marketing, they highlighted that Odisha has immense potential in the export sector.

The Ambassadors assured that Indian embassies abroad would extend all possible support to enhance exports and encouraged Odisha’s exporters to seize this opportunity for contributing to the vision of a developed Odisha.
A panel discussion was also held to strengthen the export ecosystem. Indian Ambassador to Bucharest Manoj Kumar Mahapatra, Indian Ambassador to Slovenia Amit Narang, and Indian High Commissioner to Malta Gloria Gange shared insights on international cooperation and export growth.

They emphasized the need for Odisha exporters to actively engage with their counterparts in various countries and leverage Malta and Slovenia as strategic entry points into Europe.

The Ambassadors expressed confidence that Odisha exporters would establish a strong presence in overseas markets by utilizing the opportunities facilitated by the state government.
The discussion was moderated by Nimeshika Natarajan, Regional Director, World Trade Center.

Sanjay Kumar Mishra, Director of the Directorate of Export Promotion and Marketing, presented a detailed overview of Odisha’s export potential.

Sitakant Mandal, Regional Head of APEDA (Kolkata), Dr. Achiman Lahiri, Deputy Director of MPEDA, Gyan Mohanty from Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Rajen Padhi from FICCI, and Kamal Kant Sahu, Head of FIEO Odisha, stressed the need for coordinated efforts to boost exports across key sectors.
Entrepreneurs, exporters, and officials from various departments actively participated in the event.
