Amazon expands in Odisha, launches new ‘fulfillment centre’
Bhubaneswar, Sept 12 (UNI) Strengthening its infrastructure in Odisha, Amazon India has expanded its operations network with the launch of a new Fulfilment Centre in Bhubaneswar.
The facility is expected to empower more than 17,000 sellers across the state to serve customers faster.
Ahead of the Amazon Great Indian Festival, beginning September 23, the company is preparing to meet growing customer demand in Odisha by offering greater value, speed, and product selection.
Addressing a press conference, Mayank Jain, Director, Credit & Lending, Amazon Pay, said, “At Amazon Pay, our focus is on making every festive purchase more rewarding and seamless.
With secure one-click checkout, special bank offers, Pay Later options for instant credit, and flexible payment choices, we are enabling customers in Odisha to shop faster and smarter this festive season.
“Whether for daily essentials or festive splurges, our goal is to provide a fast and failure-free payment experience that adds joy to every transaction,” Jain said.
“Our renewed partnership with ICICI Bank strengthens India’s most-adopted co-branded credit card, offering customers unlimited rewards and enhanced value across both everyday purchases and travel bookings,” he said.
During the Amazon Great Indian Festival 2025, customers can avail of attractive deals across categories up to 40% off on Apple and Samsung smartphones, up to 80% off on electronics, and 50-80% off on fashion and beauty brands.
The event will also feature new product launches, AI-powered shopping experiences, and special offers from over one million sellers, including small businesses through Amazon Launchpad.
Amazon’s operational footprint in Odisha now includes a new Fulfilment Centre, one Sortation Centre, over 250 “I Have Space” (IHS) stores, and more than 60 delivery stations.
These investments have doubled same-day and next-day deliveries in Bhubaneswar, with same-day deliveries increasing by over 190% and next-day deliveries by more than 120% year-on-year.
Senior Manager of Amazon Prime, Pallavi Singh, said “This festive season, Prime members can start shopping for the Amazon Great Indian Festival 24 hours earlier, from September 22.
She said the new Fulfilment Centre in Odisha has further strengthened our delivery network, enabling faster same-day and next-day deliveries across the state.
Singh further noted that Odisha has emerged as one of the top 10 states for Amazon Pay transactions. Over the past six months, user growth in the state has been over 10% higher than the national average, with nearly 20% of all transactions happening at offline merchants.
Amazon Pay Later has also gained strong adoption in Odisha, making it an emerging state for digital credit usage.
Customers are increasingly using no-cost EMI options for fashion, appliances, furniture, and other big-ticket purchases during the festive season, she claimed.
