Ama Gourav Ama College Scheme Boosts Higher Education in Odisha

The Odisha Higher Education Department has approved funding of Rs 1.73 crore to upgrade infrastructure in 11 colleges and one university under the Ama Gourav Ama College scheme.

Institutions such as Ravenshaw University, Salepur Autonomous College, Bijepur Degree College, and Government Autonomous College in Phulbani will benefit from the initiative.

The funds will be utilised for strengthening libraries, building modern laboratories, developing sports and academic complexes, installing Wi-Fi connectivity, and setting up CCTV surveillance systems.

The scheme aims to modernise educational infrastructure, bridge gaps in rural and semi‑urban institutions, and foster holistic student development.

By investing in local colleges and universities, the government seeks to instil pride in institutions while enhancing the learning environment for students across Odisha.
