Alleged fraudster Hansita Abhilipsa breaks down, asserts she’s been framed

Bhubaneswar, Jan 9: Hansita Abhilipsa, a woman accused of defrauding wealthy individuals in Odisha by impersonating the daughter of Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary P.K. Mishra, broke down during police remand, claiming she has been framed.
As she was taken for questioning, Hansita sobbed before the media on Thursday, asserting her innocence and alleging that she is being targeted to tarnish her reputation. She, along with her accomplice Anil Mohanty, was arrested for allegedly cheating affluent individuals, including builders and mining operators.
Hansita vowed to expose the ‘false’ charges against her, stating that they have done nothing wrong and do not know the individual who filed the complaint. “The truth will emerge as the investigation progresses,” she declared.
The Special Crime Unit had initially sought a three-day remand to investigate the allegations further, but the court granted only one day for police interrogation. Authorities revealed that Hansita and Anil’s modus operandi involved digitally altering photographs with high-ranking officials to approach victims with false promises of securing tenders, introducing themselves as the daughter and son-in-law of the Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary.
