All Police Stations to Have CCTV by March 31

Cuttack (Orissa Today), Nov. 12: A hearing on the Bharatpur Police Station controversy took place in the High Court. The Advocate General informed the court about the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued regarding the treatment of Army personnel in police stations. The High Court ordered that a copy of the SOP be given to the amicus curiae. Additionally, the High Court has directed that CCTV installations in all police stations across the state be completed by March 31.

Furthermore, information regarding CCTV installations in police stations was presented in court by the Additional Director General (ADG). Currently, it is reported that 96% of police stations have CCTV installed. However, it was noted that some buildings affected by storms or newly constructed buildings have not yet been equipped with CCTV. The ADG stated that all police outposts are expected to be fully equipped with CCTV by March 2025.
