All Anganwadi Centres in Odisha to be transformed into “Saksham Anganwadis”, Deputy CM

Bhubaneswar, Sep 17 (UNI) Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida has announced that all 74,224 Anganwadi Centres in Odisha will be upgraded into “Saksham Anganwadis” (self-empowered Anganwadis) under a special campaign mode.
Inaugurating 913 newly constructed Anganwadi Centres through virtual mode, Parida said that after a long wait, these centres now have their own dedicated buildings. She directed district collectors to pay special attention to centres operating in challenging conditions.

The inauguration ceremony was organised by the Department of Women and Child Development, in collaboration with the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department.

Highlighting the “Āsa Buli Jiba Anganwadi” (Let Us Visit Anganwadi) campaign, the Deputy CM informed that more than 2.99 lakh people have participated so far, making it a true mass movement.
Joining virtually from Sambalpur, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Minister Ravi Narayan Nayak assured that the infrastructure of all Anganwadi Centres will be strengthened, with a focus on sanitation and safe drinking water facilities.

He added that Anganwadi Centres form the foundation of the “Developed Odisha 2036” and “Developed India 2047” visions.
