ADB to extend technical assistance for Odisha’s urban development

Bhubaneswar, Aug 6 (UNI) The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has agreed to provide technical assistance and knowledge support to the Odisha government to address the state’s evolving urban development needs.

ADB Country Director M. I. Oka met with Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary of the Housing & Urban Development Department, today to discuss the preparation of a comprehensive Urban Mobility Plan aimed at supporting sustainable urban growth and enhancing the livability of cities across the state.

The meeting focused on fostering technical collaboration between ADB and the department in key areas of urban transformation.

ADB also expressed its willingness to assist the state in accessing the Urban Challenge Fund from the Government of India.

Both parties emphasized the importance of integrated planning, innovative financing mechanisms, and capacity building to meet future urban challenges and improve the quality of life in urban areas.

The discussion marks a significant step toward strengthening partnerships for inclusive, resilient, and future-ready urban development in Odisha.
