The ordeal began at around 3 a.m. when Jayanti Mallick, a mother dependent on alms for her livelihood, discovered her child missing. The breakthrough came when authorities tracked the accused to Balasore, where the toddler was found unharmed.

The alleged perpetrator, whose identity remains undisclosed, has been apprehended and transported back to Bhubaneswar for interrogation.
