
Railways approve regular service of Brahmapur–Surat Amrit Bharat Express
Bhubaneswar, Oct 3 (UNI) The Ministry of Railways has approved the regular service of the 19022/19021 Brahmapur–Surat (Udhna)–Brahmapur Amrit Bharat Express, aimed at enhancing long-distance connectivity across Western, Central, and Eastern India.
The new weekly service is expected to boost economic and industrial mobility by linking key mineral, textile, and trade hubs, supporting business and workforce movement, East Coast Railway (ECoR) officials said.
ECoR sources said the Brahmapur to Surat (Udhna) – Train No. 19022 will depart every Monday at 23:45 hrs starting October 6; it arrives at Udhna at 08:45 hrs the following day.
Similarly, the Surat (Udhna) to Brahmapur – Train No. 19021will depart every Sunday at 07:10 hrs starting October 5; it arrives at Brahmapur at 13:55 hrs the following day.
The train will halt at major stations, including Palasa, Vizianagaram, Rayagada, Titlagarh, Raipur, Nagpur, Bhusaval, and Nandurbar.
Additional stoppages in both directions include Srikakulam, Bobbili, Parvatipuram, Sungarpur Road, Muniguda, Kesinga, Kantabanji, Khariar Road, Mahasamund, Lakholi, Durg, Gondia, Wardha, Badnera, Akola, Malkapur, Jalgaon, Dharangaon, Amalner, Sindkheda, Dondaicha, Navapur, Vyara, and Bardoli.
The Amrit Bharat Express will feature 22 modern LHB coaches, including 11 General Second Class sitting coaches, 8 Sleeper Class coaches, 2 Second Class cum Luggage/Divyangjan coaches, and 1 Pantry Car, offering passengers a safe, comfortable, and faster travel experience.
ECoR highlighted that the Amrit Bharat Express is a significant step toward strengthening long-distance rail connectivity. With its modern design, affordable fares, and LHB coaches, the service will particularly benefit middle-class passengers while supporting regional economic growth and people-centric development.
