
Cancer Survivors Meet Odisha Assembly Speaker on World Rose Day
Bhubaneswar, Sept 23: In a heartfelt gesture marking World Rose Day, cancer survivors from across Odisha met Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy at the state legislative assembly.
The event, organised by Awaken Trust, celebrated the resilience and courage of individuals who have battled and overcome cancer.
Speaker Padhy welcomed the survivors with rose bouquets, commending their unwavering spirit and mental strength. “Your journey is a testament to human resilience. May your lives continue to be filled with health and hope,” she said.
The gathering was attended by Deputy Speaker Bhabanishankar Bhoi, Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling, Panchayati Raj Minister Rabinarayan Nayak, MLAs Irashish Acharya and Babu Singh, and Assembly Secretary Satyabrata Raut.
The dignitaries expressed solidarity with the survivors and encouraged them to continue inspiring others with their strength.
The event aimed to raise awareness about cancer recovery and foster community support for those affected. It also highlighted the importance of mental well-being and public recognition in the healing journey.
