Srimandir Closed for Bamana Janma Niti Tomorrow | Puri Temple Rituals Update

PURI: The revered Jagannath Temple in Puri will remain closed to devotees for five hours tomorrow to mark the auspicious occasion of Bamana Janma Niti, commemorating the birth of Lord Vamana—the fifth incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

According to temple authorities, public darshan will be suspended from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM to facilitate elaborate rituals for the sibling deities—Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra.

During this period, servitors will adorn Lord Jagannath in the traditional Bali Bamana attire, symbolising the divine moment of Vamana’s birth.

Devotees are advised to plan their visits accordingly, as entry will be restricted following the Madhyahna Dhupa ritual.

The temple will reopen for darshan after the completion of the ceremonial observances.

The Bamana Janma Niti is one of the many sacred traditions observed at Srimandir, reflecting the temple’s rich spiritual heritage and its continued devotion to Vaishnavite customs
