Odisha Revenue Minister Warns Amala Sangha of Action Amid Ongoing Strike
Bhubaneswar, August 13(OT Webdesk) — Odisha Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari issued a stern warning to members of the Amala Sangha, demanding an immediate end to their indefinite strike that has crippled revenue operations across the state.
The minister announced that the government would enforce a strict “no work, no pay” policy and cancel all sanctioned leaves.
The Amala Sangha, representing revenue department staff, launched the protest on Monday, citing a 10-point charter of demands.
These include cadre restructuring, upgraded pay levels, enhanced health insurance, time-bound promotions, and restoration of the old pension scheme.
Minister Pujari clarified that cadre restructuring falls under the General Administration Department, and the relevant file has already been forwarded.
He urged the association to pursue dialogue instead of disruption, emphasising that mass leave is detrimental to citizens dependent on public services.
District Collectors have been instructed to revoke all leave approvals, and administrative action—including salary suspension—is on the table if the strike continues.
The ongoing protest has sparked concerns over delays in essential services across Odisha.
