Bhubaneswar, June 14, (OT Webdesk): Odisha has greenlit Rs 3,878.86 crore worth of investments across 17 projects, spanning textiles, biofuels, eco-tourism, and industrial expansion.
This move is expected to generate over 10,500 job opportunities, furthering the state’s economic growth.
One of the standout projects is MAS India’s clothing processing mill in Khordha, backed by a Rs 885 crore investment, set to bolster the textile sector.
Jajpur is slated for a ceramic fibre manufacturing unit worth Rs 51 crore, while Balangir will witness a battery storage solutions facility at a cost of Rs 310 crore.
Odisha is also making strides in eco-tourism and green energy, with Puri welcoming a new eco-resort named “Mayfair Hideout” (Rs 53 crore investment), while Boudh will house a biofuel-based ethanol plant worth Rs 110 crore.
Industrial expansion continues with Rs 400 crore allocated for sponge iron production and various mining and technology initiatives.
Officials believe these investments align with Odisha’s vision for diversified industrial expansion, reinforcing its status as a hub for textile, biofuels, mining, and tourism sectors.
