Odisha CM Joins Snana Purnima, Rath Yatra Preparations Intensify in Puri

Rath Yatra 2025 Puri

Puri, June 11, (OT Webdesk): In a significant religious event, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi participated in the Snana Purnima rituals on Wednesday, marking a spiritual prelude to the grand Rath Yatra 2025 set to take place on June 27.

The traditional Pahandi Bije procession saw the sibling deities—Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra—ceremoniously carried from the sanctum sanctorum of the Shree Jagannath Temple to their designated Snana Mandap amid devotional chants, drumbeats, and conch sounds.

Preparations for the Festival of Chariots are in full swing, with skilled artisans engaged in constructing the massive chariots since April 30 (Akshaya Tritiya), following age-old traditions.

The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) is overseeing logistical, security, and infrastructure arrangements, ensuring a seamless experience for lakhs of devotees from across India and abroad.

The Rath Yatra, one of Hinduism’s most sacred festivals, celebrates Odisha’s spiritual identity and rich heritage, bringing devotees together in a vibrant display of faith and devotion.
