Bhubaneswar, May 22,(OT Webdesk) – The Odisha Home Department has announced the promotion of 22 Additional Public Prosecutors (Addl.P.Ps) to the rank of Public Prosecutor, reinforcing the legal system across the state. These appointments, made on an ad-hoc basis for a year, are subject to consultation with the Odisha Public Service Commission and a pending legal outcome.
Among the notable appointments, Sri Debasish Mahakud has been designated as the Public Prosecutor for CID, CB (Crime Branch) in Cuttack, while Smt. Sipranjali Swain will serve as the Public Prosecutor in Khurda at Bhubaneswar. Additionally, Sri Salila Kumar Pradhan has been entrusted with the role of Special Public Prosecutor for the Vigilance Organisation.
The promotions align with Odisha’s ongoing efforts to enhance judicial efficiency and ensure swift prosecution of cases. Legal experts have welcomed the move, emphasizing its potential to strengthen the judicial framework in the state.
