Odisha is bracing for a bout of Kalbaisakhi storms, accompanied by heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and thunderstorm activity, as per the Bhubaneswar Regional Meteorological Center’s yellow warning. Thirteen districts, including Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and Keonjhar, are under alert, with wind speeds expected to range from 30-40 km/h, potentially peaking at 50 km/h.
While the storms offer respite from the sweltering heat, they also bring complications like waterlogging and transportation disruptions in some areas. Experts attribute the rainfall to two active trough lines influencing the weather across the state. Residents are advised to stay vigilant as the stormy weather continues until April 25
