Three killed, one critically injured as ambulance collides with dumper in Bhadrak

Bhubaneswar,(Orissa Today) Feb 1: In a tragic accident, three people lost their lives, and another sustained critical injuries after an ambulance collided with a dumper near Maitapur in Odisha’s Bhadrak district on Saturday. The victims were returning home with a deceased family member when the mishap occurred on National Highway 16.
According to preliminary reports, a man from Palasia village under Bhogarai police limits had been admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack a few days ago. Following his death, his son, son-in-law, and daughter-in-law were transporting his body back to their hometown in the ambulance when the vehicle met with the fatal accident.
The deceased have been identified as Sanjay Jena, the son of the deceased man, his son-in-law Sudhanshu Dalai, and ambulance driver Dilip Singh. Sanjay’s mother, Savitri Jena, suffered critical injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital.
Local authorities and police rushed to the spot after receiving information about the accident. The bodies have been sent for postmortem, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the collision.
